A Day in the Life: Arun Manoharan, Head of Operations at 7H

At 7H, our people are the heart of everything we do. This month, we’re taking you behind the scenes with Arun Manoharan, our Head of Operations, to get a glimpse of what a typical day looks like as he drives excellence across our growing portfolio.
6:30 AM – A Head Start on the Day
Arun begins his morning with a brisk walk or hits the gym. Time to clear his head and set priorities before the day kicks off. “It’s my moment to focus,” he says. “Operations is all about being prepared for the unexpected.“ He then reviews the end of day reports from all hotels and forecasts reports from our revenue team.
8:00 AM – Checking In Across the Portfolio
By 8 a.m., Arun is already on calls with property managers, reviewing overnight performance metrics, guest feedback, and occupancy trends. His collaborative approach ensures every hotel is aligned with 7H’s standards while remaining agile to local needs.
10:00 AM – Site Visit and Team Engagement
No two days are the same, and today Arun is on-site at one of 7H’s flagship properties – Thornbury Castle. He spends time with department heads, walking the property to understand challenges first-hand and celebrating wins with the team. “Being visible and approachable builds trust,” he explains.
12:30 PM – Strategic Planning Over Lunch
Lunch is rarely just a meal. it’s a chance for Arun to connect with colleagues or industry partners. Today, he’s meeting with an owner’s representative to evaluate recent operational successes and set clear action points for the months ahead.
2:00 PM – Driving Innovation and Partnerships
Afternoons are for big-picture projects: reviewing proposals for operational improvements, exploring new technologies, and developing partnerships, like the recent initiative with Room to Reward. “Partnerships like this remind us that hospitality can have an impact far beyond our walls,” Arun notes.
4:30 PM – Mentoring Future Leaders
Arun dedicates part of his day to mentoring rising talent within 7H. He believes in empowering others: “Our success is built on strong teams. Investing in people is the most important part of my job.”
6:00 PM – Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead
Before signing off, Arun reviews action items and sets priorities for the next day. Evenings are reserved for family time – a grounding reminder of the balance he champions within the company.
